We began our journey with goats in 2025. What began as a simple method of property management quickly grew into an obsession. We purchased foundation does for our myotonic herd from Angelo’s Fainters in Coshocton, OH and Dusty Lane Fainters in Lewisburg, OH in 2025. Although primarily a meat breed, it is well known among seasoned breeders that myotonic goats can be used as milk goats. How much and for how long? Who knows! There’s currently no data on myotonic lactations. So, we decided to establish a small herd of similarly sized dairy goats (that’s where the miniature Saanens come in!) and put them all on milk test. We will establish baseline production for myotonics compared to dairy goats under the same management conditions. We are excited to go on this adventure, and excited for you to follow along! We will begin freshening does in the spring of 2027. We will offer limited, show quality kids. We will also offer herdshares, a contractual agreement in which investors are entitled to a portion of the milk we produce here on our farm. We will also have limited skincare products available for purchase. As we grow, the information available here on our website will grow with it.
